"wanna be" granolas

We hiked to Havasupai in Arizona a couple of weeks ago and it was beautiful....once we got there. I don't think that Braydn and I were thinking when we decided to drive 10 hours to the middle of nowhere and then proceed to backpack all our belongings down switchbacks for 10+ miles in the middle of the night!
Lets just say my shoulders were already tensing up from carrying my "way to heavy of a pack" through the parking lot to get to the trail....not a good sign right?

It was quite a new experience for us, with the *help of our headlamps we could see a foot ahead of us....so needless to say we missed all the signs directing us to our destination and were lost following horse poop!
We walked aimlessly for an hour retracing our steps, had a close encounter with some red glowing eyes in the trees (come to find out there are tons of wild horses on the reservation..that would have been helpful to know) ran out of water, and almost had to amputate my toes.
We finally found camp for the few remaining hours of night. When we woke up we were greeted by a beautiful view of port-o-potties lined in a neat row in front of us...we must have been desperate to stop hiking!

*I said help of our headlamps but mine was pointless...all it did was attracted bugs to my face, it was wonderful.

Bray was carrying the leaning tower of Pisa on his back.

I wasn't kidding about amputating my toes...my shoes were too small so I had to improvise for the hike out!

Once we recovered it was beautiful and yes, I would do it all again! The water is crystal clear and there are waterfalls everywhere. It was beautiful everywhere you looked!

here was our camp for the week

Is it offical.....could we pass for granolas?

the last of the last

While we were driving my sister & I could not get
enough of these life size (or so we thought) 3-D billboards
here we are with the fam welcoming you to our home.

THE MYSTERY SPOT
hmmmm...might possibly be the weirdest place that I have visited yet.
words cannot explain this unusual tourist attraction
or how anyone knows about it.
The boys were skeptics but Nat & I on the other hand
found ourselves caught in the trance
{dizziness mixed with uncontrollable laughter}
of this mysterious
Mystery Spot.

look familiar...
remember the show Full House?
I imagined that they lived in the bright yellow one
& that Kimmy Gibbler lived in the blue one on the far right.

...and of course the best part of the trip was hanging
out with these two cuties (and of course their parents).
Aren't they so adorable?

santa cruz

I think that this day was my favorite of our trip
I felt like I was walking on a movie set
with the boardwalk & all the bright colors of the carnival,
placed perfectly next to the beach.
BEAUTIFUL.
you know when you are getting old when you only go on 2 risky rides
and start to feel sick...
I always thought that was a lame excuse.

girly-friends

because sometimes there are just no words
that can explain why we are the way we are
but hey, at least we can entertain ourselves
while our husbands are pre-occupied
playing their own games.

go B go!

Last week Bray ran his first 1/2 marathon and LOVED it! I am sure this is the first of many to come. I sat there for over an hour with my camera in tow waiting to see him and of course I somehow missed him (go figure)! The photographers for the race must have known I would miss him so they filled in for me.

Bray & my little brother ran the 1/2 and my brother-in-law ran the full. It was so fun to be there and see all the support of family & friends. The boys after the race...(notice the model in the window striking a glamorous pose for the photo)

These guys might look familiar to some of you...

yep, Dane & Blaine from the Biggest Loser (should I be showing this since the finale is in 3 weeks oops?)

Way to go Brett, Bray & Trammy...we are proud!
Love your support at the Finish Line
(even if we don't actually see you finish!)

spring cleaning

Not only am I excited that this is gone (at least for a little while)...But I am thrilled that this too is gone..

I hate snow and March Mustache Madness Month!

Bring on the spring weather and my "not so creepy looking" husband back.

just dreaming...

So a few weekends ago we packed our bags and headed down to sunny St. George. We spent the weekend doing my favorite things. We wandered in and out of beautiful homes while voicing our opinions on what we liked and disliked about the homes that we can't afford. It is otherwise known as the Parade of Homes.
It is my favorite and St George has the best homes to look through, so every year I drag Braydn down there so that he can listen to me go on and on about what I do and don't like about each home..he's such a good sport.

While we were there we decided to check out this ridiculous pool, practice our golf on the putting green, rock climb, play a little racquetball, workout, shoot some hoops in our indoor b-ball court, watch a movie in our private theater and relax in our very own hot tub which was in a man-made cave.....

YA...That was all in ONE house! It was ridiculous.

We did happen to stumble upon a home inspired by my favorite architect of all time..Frank Lloyd Wright and can I just tell you..it was beautiful! I can't wait to design my house around his famous craftsman/modern style.

*****

This beauty was my favorite from last year and we were able to go through it again and I think that I loved it more this year than last! Check out that main room....beautiful!
Anyway, I could go on and on...

While we were there we did visit the cutest cafe! (just check out the cute Amy Butler fabric on the seats) They have a live band every Saturday night and have the most delicious cupcakes. If you are in St George you definitely need to make a stop there.

Brett and Hannah agreed with me on the cupcakes...Delicious.

10 quirky facts about my sweet hubby

1. he does this little "shake" with his right arm everyday when he puts a shirt on..its weird but so cute.
2. he loves loves loves games...and despite the fact that he will tell you that he is not competitive we all know the truth.
3. he can sit and watch the most boring science/animal shows on TV and be completely entertained.
4. he always has his mouth slightly opened and never breaths through his nose..EVER!
5. he doesn't laugh...he giggles.
6. he talks REALLY loud and can be heard no matter where I am in the store.
7. he has 3 different hair colors all growing on his face...brown hair, blond eyebrows and red facial hair.
8. he doesn't have a bone in his nose...he can completely flatten it to his face.
9. when he uses scissors he subconsciously opens and closes his mouth with each cut...it is adorable! (needless to say I make him cut everything for me just so I can see it.)
10. he is always calculating some sort of math equation in his head...always.

thank you for always being so full of life
and for choosing me.
